W Clifford Watts are washed sands and gravel aggregates and are able to supply these in an array of varieties and sizes. These aggregates are supplied from Park Farm Quarry.
The particle size determines difference between sand and gravel. Anything that passes through a 2mm sieve and is retained on a 63 micron sieve is defined as sand, whereas all particles retained on the 2mm sieve are classed as gravel.
Sharp Sand Aggregates
For concrete products, floor screeds, bedding, sand bags, horse menages.
Soft Building Sand
Commonly used to mix with cement to make mortar for bricklaying, wall building and pointing of paving.
Filling Sand/Cable Sand
For the bedding of drainage and piping systems and also for horse ménages.
