Watts
Mix Mixed Concrete (From the past to the future)
Watts Mix was created in 1996 after the acquisition of Marshall
Stone Company, who operated from a quarry in the North Yorkshire
National Park near Scarborough.
This company already operated two ready mix wagons and had
a turnover of approximately 3,500 cubic meters per annum.
Watts Mix rapidly expanded with volumes increasing three
fold.

In
a second plant at Park Farm near Driffield was added and located
at the parent companies sand & gravel quarry. This opened up
new markets in Bridlington & Driffield and in the surrounding
areas of East Yorkshire.
In 1999 accreditation was sought by way of BS1 certification,
which enabled the company to supply the National House Builders,
Yorkshire Water sites and Construction Companies.
In March 2003 Watts Mix closed the Scarborough plant and
opened a new plant in Hunmanby, which complemented the Park Farm
Plant extremely well, and gave a great back up service.
In January 2003 we successfully secured planning permission
for a third plant in Malton.
In March 2006 we secured planning permission for a fourth
plant at South Cave in our Everthorpe Station Quarry.
Malton Concrete plant opened its doors for business in September
2006 and instantly gave us the scope to deliver further west
towards the ever expanding city of York.
Work started on South Cave plant in summer 2006 and plans
are to be finished in spring 2007.
Watts
mix Concrete's plans for expansion have not stopped there and we
are looking at different areas for expansion.
